On October 26th, 2018, Jessup Auto Plaza gave away a new vehicle worth up to $30K to a lucky winner. This is the second consecutive year that Jessup has participated in the Motor Mania Giveaway at the Twenty-nine Palms Marine Base. The Jessup family is a third-generation Military family serving other military families. There was a monthly winner each month that received a $250 gift card to the Marine Mart on base, each winner was then put into the drawing for the final prize, a car! Out of the 14 finalists, our lucky winner this year was Jaime Horrocks. Her husband, Tom, was deployed during the Jubilee so he will have an exciting homecoming present waiting for him. General Motors is currently hard at work on its next-generation full-size, heavy-duty trucks - the 2500HD and 3500HD versions of Chevy's 2020 Silverado and GMC's 2020 Sierra. And now, GM Authority has discovered that these future GM HD trucks - which we have seen undergoing testing many times before - will introduce an all-new eight-cylinder gasoline engine. According to sources familiar with the automaker's plans, the 2020 model year heavy duty GM trucks will utilize a new gasoline V8 engine displacing 6.6 liters. The motor will make around 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque - representing notable improvements of 40 horsepower and 70 pound-feet of torque - over the Vortec 6.0L V8 L96 that currently serves as the base engine in the current Silverado HD and Sierra HD. The GM HD trucks will be completely overhauled for 2020 model year. The lineup will consist of the 2020 Silverado HD and 2020 SierraHD, in 2500HD and 3500HD guises. Expect the new HD trucks to adopt an all-new exterior design similar to their respective light duty variants, while growing in size, shedding weight, improving capability, and having more comfort and convenience features, especially when it comes to towing technologies. We are so happy to be a part of a monumental event at the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City. The event was a huge success with the Windermere Homes and Estates, Real Estate agents who gave a $10,000 donation to the Club. Their contribution was based on $10 from every closing deal they had over a certain period of time. Additionally, Jessup is still doing a $25 test drive contribution for each test drive that takes place. One of our very own, Braulio Rodriguez, is from Cathedral City and was part of the Boys and Girls Club as a student and he is now the Jessup Cadillac Sales Manager. Monica Morales was the representative for the Boys and Girls Club from Jessup Cadillac and she deserves special recognition for arranging the lunch and having Snow Cones for the little ones. A lot of hard work went into this event and we couldn't have done it without our awesome Jessup staff. Overall the Realtors/Brokers, Boys and Girls Club workers and students, and Jessup employees all enjoyed the Panera Lunch, waters and snow cones! We will be having another BBQ at the Boys and Girls in January, 2019!

The 2019 GMC Sierra Denali is the high-end counterpoint to GM's other pickup, the Chevy Silverado. It embodies a mixed message of simultaneously representing the plush luxury and tech-forward thinking that is a badge of the GMC line while shoehorning these features into a class of vehicle usually meant to be an absolute workhorse. Back in 1967 the Blazer was a "thing". Scratch that, it was THE thing. It has returned and it is rumored to be better than ever. The trim levels for the 2019 Chevy Blazer have been uncovered prior to its rumored release date in early 2019. In all, there will be a total of four general trim levels and seven specific ones, as follows: 1. L (1L0): includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats (retail order types only) 2. Blazer, comprised of three LT-level trims: 1LT: includes 2.5L I4 LCV engine with FWD only and cloth seats 2LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and cloth seats 3LT: includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats 3. RS (1RS): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats 4. Premier (0HD): includes 3.6L V6 LGX engine with FWD or AWD and leather seats Chevrolet re-introduced the Blazer name for the 2019 model year as an all-new crossover utility vehicle (CUV). The new 2018 Buick Regal TourX takes an alternative route, combining the lower-to-the-ground poise of a car with, when the second row seats are folded down, a massive 74 cubic feet of cargo room. It doesn't look like most wagons, the Buick is swoopy and aggressive, recalling the Audi Allroad in stance but even more rakish in its lines. Standard wheels on all trim levels are 18-inch alloys, while available roof rails add additional cargo-loading versatility and enhance the adventurous look. This is a great-looking piece. The top-line Essence includes such standard gear as a leather seats with 8-way power adjustments and heating up front, keyless entry with remote start, dual climate control, a heated leather wheel, a hands-free power liftgate, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Options included a Sights and Sounds package ($1,095) with 8-inch HD infotainment display and premium audio, a Driver Confidence package ($1,725), adding wireless charging plus a slew of active-safety features, a power moonroof ($1,200) and Smoked Pearl metallic paint ($395). The Essence trim starts at just under $36,000; with all the options tacked on my tester rolled out the showroom door at just over $40K. The engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four with 250 hp and 295 pound-feet, both peaks arriving at 5,000 rpm. The mill moves the Buick well (0 to 60 mph in well under 7 seconds), puts the torque down without a skip (thanks to the AWD system), and for the most part performs with smoothness and refinement. The standard transmission is an 8-speed automatic, and while its cogs are well-spaced, shifts tend to come slowly. Rowing the center-console lever manually improves shift quickness (there are no wheel paddles). Above all, the Regal TourX stands out for great looks, outstanding room, and a sticker that undercuts admittedly more upscale rivals by $5K or more. A new entry-level crossover from GMC is getting closer to production. Spy photographers caught a heavily camouflaged version of the vehicle -- it is smaller than the compact GMC Terrain -- testing for the first time in Arizona. The baby GMC is expected to be based on GM's Gamma-2 architecture that underpins the Buick Encore, Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet Trax in the U.S. The expected subcompact crossover could be called Granite, after a 2010 concept. It is expected to arrive in showrooms in 2020. It's hard to tell many design aspects of the vehicle. GMC has been planning a smaller crossover/SUV for some time. However, unlike early expectations of such a vehicle being a body-on-frame Jeep Wrangler-fighter, the production crossover is expected to compete against the Jeep Renegade and Honda HR-V. Duncan Aldred, head of Buick and GMC worldwide, has said a vehicle smaller and less expensive than the Terrain - starting at about $26,000 - is "a logical place" for the brand to expand. Models throughout the Chevrolet Camaro range are getting big price deductions for the 2019 model year, and perhaps nowhere is that more important than with the base 1LS model, which will start at $25,995 including destination - a full $1,120 cheaper than the 2019 Ford Mustang EcoBoost at $27,115. Option both cars with automatic transmissions and the price disparity jumps by another $100 to $1,220. According to Ford Authority, the Ford Mustang EcoBoost model's new $27,115 price tag represents a $370 price bump from 2018 - an odd move, considering that the car's chief rival from GM went in the opposite direction. Still, that price gets you a bigger, 2.3-liter turbocharged I4 engine, and in the case of the automatic, two extra forward gears; Camaro buyers are forced to spring for at least the LT1-powered 1SS in order to get the same ten-speed slushbox. The biggest price drop for the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro has been with respect to the 1LT and 2LT models, which have seen their prices slashed by $1,200 and $3,000, respectively. Yet oddly, the Camaro 1SS and 2SS haven't come down in price at all for the new model year, with the 1SS starting at $37,995 - $1,645 more than a base Ford Mustang GT. (Source: GMAuthority)
